IC Netherlands called Rockfield Real Estate

Amsterdam 13 January 2021 – Wouter van den Eijnden and IC Group have reached an agreement regarding the acquisition of the shares in IC Netherlands. The acquisition was successfully completed at the end of December. This means that co-founder Wouter van den Eijnden has become 100% shareholder of IC Netherlands BV, which from now on will continue as Rockfield Real Estate BV.

Rockfield is a Dutch real estate developer, investor and property manager with expertise in community-driven housing concepts. Rockfield’s housing concepts have always been strongly focused on students and young professionals but have also been focusing on regular medium-rent and prived sector housing products for some time. Rockfield wants to expand this strategy in the field of development and management of community-driven housing concepts even further and faster.

The name change and shareholder change does not otherwise affect the current day-to-day operations located at Naritaweg in Amsterdam. Rockfield will remain investment manager and administrator of the accumulated portfolio of around 7,500 apartments that are operational or under development. By shifting focus from the G5 to G20 and attracting new investors, the portfolio will grow substantially in the coming years.

Wouter

‘We started 6 years ago as a developer/investor for student housing, but we are now much more than that. This acquisition gives us the ability to respond even more actively and decisively to opportunities in the Dutch real estate market and in particular the mid-priced rental and micro living segment’ said Rockfield’s CEO; Wouter van den Eijnden.’

Rockfield’s ambition becomes immediately apparent in the new year. Rockfield’s management team has been joined from 1 January by Edvard van Luijn as Director of Acquisition and previously by Luc Platenburg as CFO.
