Eindhoven 26 October 2022 – Construction is now in full swing on Lighthouse; Eindhoven’s tallest residential tower which is being built opposite Strijp-S train station. Rockfield Real Estate acquired Lighthouse earlier this year for one of its investors and celebrated the moment the tower took to the air with all parties involved.
Tower crane
Stam + De Koning Bouw now has a large tower crane on site, and in recent months they have been hard at work completing the basement of Lighthouse. This tower crane will later grow with the building and thus become even taller. The photo taken from the tower crane already shows part of the ground floor from above, with the first contours of the outer walls already visible. Also clearly visible is the side façade with horizontal teeth. This will later become one of the image-defining elements.
The ground floor will be further prepared so that the residential tower can take to the air from now on its way to a height of 109 metres. This moment was celebrated festively with the parties involved.
Sustainable construction
Lighthouse will be constructed from floors and walls cast in situ with concrete. The exterior of the building will be completely masonry, up to the 34th floor, contributing to a robust appearance. Since masonry is a high-quality product that stands the test of time, this is one of the components that will make Lighthouse a future-proof and sustainable building.
Pleasant living climate
The apartments will have windows with solar control glass and underfloor cooling. This ensures a pleasant living environment which is becoming increasingly important with today’s climate change. These measures contribute to EU taxonomy sustainability standards and CO2 reduction, and low energy consumption. Commercial spaces and amenities will be built in the lower layers of the residential tower. Focusing both on the tenants and the environment.
About Lighthouse
Lighthouse will be a 109-metre-high residential tower in Strijp-S with 333 rental apartments and around 1,000 m2 of commercial space. The development, realisation and sale of Lighthouse at Strijp S is a long-term collaboration between Rockfield Real Estate, Spoorzone BV and Stam + De Koning Bouw BV, from Eindhoven. Sustainability has been part of the building’s design from the beginning and it meets the highest standards. Construction of Eindhoven’s tallest residential tower is expected to take around 2.5 years.
