Start of construction HIGHnote in Almere

Almere 8 June 2021 – Area developer AM and Rockfield Real Estate will give the go-ahead for the construction of HIGHnote in Almere on Monday 7 June. The iconic building being constructed in the centre of Almere will include 157 apartments, including 66 Friends- apartments , a plinth with communal facilities and commercial spaces, a catering facility and several semi-public outdoor spaces. Earlier this year, AM sold the project to one of Rockfield Real Estate’s funds. HIGHnote responds to the high demand from starters and young internationals for apartments in the centre of Almere.

HIGHNote

Strengthening liveliness of Almere city centre
HIGHnote responds to both the high demand for city-centre housing and Almere’s ambitions to further strengthen the attractiveness and liveliness of the city centre in the coming years. With the future vision of Almere Centrum called ‘the eternally young inner city’, Almere Centrum is working towards a lively mix of meeting, studying, living and working for Almereans and the region.

Friends concept: living together with own facilities
HIGHnote is a nineteen-storey residential building with 157 rental apartments varying in size and price. Of the apartments, 115 are offered as medium-rent and 42 as prived sector rental. Sixty-six apartments will be designed as Friends apartments* with living areas ranging from around 65 m2 to 100 m2. All apartments will have a balcony. Both AM and Rockfield are early adopters of the Friends concept, which aims to make living in a prime location affordable and comfortable.

The apartments were sold earlier this year to Rockfield Real Estate and will be managed by The Cohesion coliving. Rockfield is an expert in the field of co-living, student housing, and mid-priced rentals in urban environments in the Netherlands.

Efficient Construction Process with Prefabricated Facade
Careful preparation and intensive collaboration with Heddes as the builder and its partners have resulted in the choice of prefabricated facade elements. For HIGHnote, so-called prefab sandwich elements will be used, which are already equipped with frames and glazing before they arrive at the construction site. Each apartment will be equipped with a balcony and balustrade, which are also mounted on the elements before placement. This efficient method of construction ensures that the facade is completed in one go, allowing for scaffold-free work.

With HIGHnote, the concept of the “inclusive city” and the need for affordable apartments are being addressed. By combining living, working, and leisure functions, HIGHnote becomes a versatile place in the city center. Because young people live, work, and relax here, the place is dynamic and energetic at all times of the day. It fosters interaction and connection among tenants, entrepreneurs, and visitors from the immediate area and the center of Almere.
