Rockfield Real Estate buys HIGHnote in Almere for one of the funds

Rockfield Real Estate (Rockfield) has signed an agreement with Area Developer AM for the purchase of 157 apartments in the new residential icon HIGHnote in Almere. Rockfield is an investor, developer and operator of student, Young Professional and mid-priced rental properties in the Netherlands. HIGHnote responds to the great need of starters and young internationals for apartments in the center of Almere, which connect seamlessly with Rockfield's portfolio and activities.

HIGHnote meets both the great demand for urban living in the center and Almere's ambitions to further enhance the attractiveness and vibrancy of the city center in the coming years. With the future vision of Almere Centrum called 'the eternally young city centre', Almere Centrum is working on a lively mix of meeting, studying, living and working for Almere and the region.

“For Rockfield, Almere is an urban area where we have been studying for a long time. As part of the MRA, Almere is also an important location for young people to settle in the future. The acquisition of Highnote has given the go-ahead for Rockfield to invest, develop and manage even more in Almere” says Wouter van den Eijnden; CEO Rockfield

“With HIGHnote, AM gives substance to its core theme of Inclusive City. By combining living, working and residential functions, HIGHnote is a versatile place in the city. Because young people live, work and recreate here, the place is dynamic and energetic at any time of the day. It stimulates encounters and connections for residents, entrepreneurs and visitors from the immediate vicinity and the center of Almere," says Peter Heuvelink, director AM Noordwest

HIGHnote is a nineteen-storey residential building with 157 rental apartments varying in size and price. Of the apartments, 115 are offered in the medium-priced rent and 42 in the private sector. 66 apartments will be realized as Friends homes with living areas of approximately 65 m2 to 100 m2. All apartments have a balcony. Both Rockfield and AM are early adapters of the Friends concept, which is aimed at a target group for whom living in a prime location is made affordable and comfortable. A Friends home is for two people and is shared with a friend, family member, colleague or other living companion. Both have their own sleeping and shower room and the other rooms are shared. In addition, there will be a plinth with formal and informal work and study areas, a catering facility and various semi-public outdoor spaces.

Construction is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2021 and completion is expected in 2023. The design of HIGHnote comes from architect studio Studioninedots. Construction is in the hands of Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling
